City of Arroyo Grande Response

On March 17, 2020, in response to the status of the COVID-19/novel coronavirus outbreak, the City Manager, acting within his authority as the City’s Director of Emergency Services, signed a Proclamation declaring the existence of a local emergency within the City of Arroyo Grande in order to gain access to additional resources. Pursuant to State law, the City Council ratified the action at its March 24, 2020 Regular Meeting by adopting Resolution No. 4974.

On July 14, 2020 City Council adopted two Urgency Ordinances. Review the City’s Ordinance regarding enforcing all State and County Orders related to COVID-19 and the ability to issue citations and penalties.

As of June 15, 2021, all City offices fully reopened to the public.  COVID-19 safety protocol is being observed, including the requirement for face coverings to be worn within City buildings. City services also continue to be available via phone, email, and through the City’s website. The public can call the City’s main telephone line at (805) 473-5400 or send an email to agcity@arroyogrande.org for more information. A staff directory can be found here. City Council and advisory body meetings will continue to be offered virtually.

Parklets

The City’s Community Development Department is pleased to offer an opportunity to local businesses to establish parklets for use as additional outdoor space during the COVID-19 pandemic and reopening process. Applications were due August 7, 2020 and parklets were installed mid-August.
