Understanding Your T(w)eenager

Saturday, February 29, 2020

The teenage years can be challenging, both for the teenager AND the parent/caregiver. Four experts will be on hand to help you understand not only what is going on with your teenager, but also practical strategies that will help both of you through this challenging time. This is an adult only event (please leave your teenager/kids at home). Bring a notebook and pen—you will need it! Topics on the agenda with Q & A: 1. Understanding the Teenage Brain with Lea Payne Scott, Social and Behavioral Educator - Adolescent Brain 2. Managing Teenage Emotions (anxiety, stress, depression) with Amy Waddle, Mental Health Advocate for Teen Mental Health 3. Social Media & Digital Safety with Brandy Swain, Crime Prevention Specialist from SLO Sheriff’s Office 4. Improving Communication with your Teen with Diane Auten, Communication Studies Professor and Author of The Joys of Raising Boys.
